Welcome to the Gravestone Guardians Photo Gallery, where our work comes to life through images. This collection highlights our ongoing restoration projects, dramatic before-and-after headstone cleanings, and examples of carefully executed resets and repairs. Each photo tells a story of preservation, respect, and teamwork—showcasing how dedicated volunteers, proper techniques, and the right tools come together to protect historic gravestones and honor the individuals they memorialize. We invite you to explore the progress, craftsmanship, and care that go into preserving these irreplaceable pieces of our shared history.

We’ve been spending the past few days at Burnt Swamp Cemetery giving some much-needed love to the headstones—and today, we’d like you to meet one of the souls resting here.
Bradford Augustus Mason was a carpenter by trade, a husband to Harriet, and a father to Edwin, Nellie, and Ethel. He married in Providence in 1868, but spent his days building a life in Wrentham, Massachusetts.
Now he rests in the quiet of Burnt Swamp Cemetery, under a stone that bears the beautiful epitaph:
“Dying is but going home.”
It’s a simple yet powerful reminder of the stories etched in stone and the lives that shaped our towns.
Watch as we bring a little dignity back to Bradford’s final resting place in our latest headstone cleaning video.
Because every name deserves to be seen. Every story deserves to be remembered. 💙
